As Asura struggles to get his past shape back, Kid and Black Star have a final attempt to stop him, but to no avail. Asura gets back to the surface and goes high into the air, after an unsuccessful effort from Maka to go after him. An old seal system set by Shinigami is activated as soon as Asura resurfaces, but Asura's power is able to get him free. It is enough, though, for Shinigami to arrive and have a deadly clash with the reborn kishin. He fails and Asura is able to run away, and he immediately orders Sid to summon the head Death Scythes in the world. As the group try to regain forces, a snake slithers out of a drainage pipe, after Medusa's been defeated by Stein.
